Dear
Fellow Toastmasters,
Happy Holidays! What a fall we’ve had! A
wonderfully successful conference thanks to Anita Jackson and
Phyllis Kennedy (and a host of others who helped ‘behind the
scenes’), new clubs being chartered, all clubs working hard on
their DCP, dignitary visits and media coverage, and more.
• Members – do not forget that this organization
exists to help you create your future. Work your personal plan
for success. • Club Leadership – do not forget that you can
help your members create their futures. Work your club plan
for success. • District Leadership – do not forget that you
are absolutely critical to providing the incentive for
individuals and clubs to reach their goals – and to District
16 in reaching its goal of President’s distinguished. Work the
District plan for success.
We’ve all worked hard to be
where we are today – but there is still much to be done. And
what’s so very wonderful, is that every step of the way, more
and more members are served. Keep up the great job! Everyone
have a terrific, safe and meaningful holiday. (But read on to
get the important scoop you need to know!)
Jodi
Santangelo, District 16
Governor
IMPORTANT
CLUB REMINDER!
In
November your club should have elected new officers – but you
can’t stop there! Now you need to report those new officers to
TI and to your District Governor! Just click the link to the
right, login with your Club Number and Password (your
President should know it) and in just a few minutes, your club
will have accomplished yet another goal on its way to
President’s Distinguished. Please e-mail Jodi Santangelo (at
jsantangelo@cox.net) your new list, as
well.
Check Your
Club’s Status
A great
new report is available to clubs on the TI website. At any
point in time, the report shows by Division and Area exactly
what goals your club has accomplished and which have yet to be
performed. This makes tracking your progress toward
President’s Distinguished very simple. Click the link to the
right to access this new report. Use this information to
motivate and inspire your club members to keep giving
speeches, keep recruiting new club members, keep working to
“create their futures.” Together, District 16 will
succeed!
January
Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI)
Mark your
calendars NOW for the TLI sessions to be held in January!
Eastern Oklahoma clubs are set for January 22 at Trinity
United Methodist Church at 3737 S. Peoria and Western Oklahoma
clubs are set for January 29 at Rose State (the Tom Steed
Building) in Midwest City. Registration for both sessions
begins at 8:00 a.m. TLI is where training for club officers
takes place. It also provides many sessions helpful to all
Toastmasters – such as attracting and retaining members,
conducting great speech contests, and more. All club officers
need to attend – but all club members will find the sessions
very informative and enjoyable. Questions? Division O & K
clubs contact Lacinda Green, DTM, at 405-946-4697 or
lacindaG@sbcglobal.net; Division T clubs contact Stan Beck,
DTM at 918-335-0705 or swbeck@cableone.net.
Spring
Conference Plans in Progress
The
fantastic Fall Conference chaired by Phyllis Kennedy and Anita
Jackson raised the bar for District 16, offering more quality,
creativity and class than ever before experienced at a
Toastmasters event. And the trend continues, with plans for
the spring event, to be held May 13 and 14 on the Oklahoma
State University campus in Stillwater, are well under way. Sue
has set a goal of having 200 District 16 members participate
in the conference – and we know she’ll do it. Mark your
calendar now and stay tuned for more conference updates after
the holidays.
Members
Matter Most
Congratulations
to the new Hilltop Voices and Devon Energy Corporation clubs!
Way to go Donna Grady, Division T Governor, Margaret Page,
Area T2 Governor, Mary Pursley, Division O Governor, and Mike
Leviant, Area O4 Governor!
We’re excited to have 100%
of all clubs renewing this fall! We’re steadfastly making
progress toward President’s Distinguished!
Don’t forget
about the "4 by 4" Membership Contest is underway! Great
prizes are at stake for the individual members, clubs and area
governors who meet the contest parameters for growing District
16 membership. You received an e-mail explaining the contest a
couple of weeks ago; details will be posted to the
www.oktoastmasters.org website by this next
weekend.
