International Officer and Director Candidates
2008
The Toastmasters International Board of Directors provides
leadership to Toastmasters members worldwide. Once elected, Board
members work for the benefit of all clubs and members in the
organization. They do not represent a particular region, district or
a particular cause.
As the governing body of the organization, the Board establishes
policy and guidelines in the areas of education, administration and
growth and leads Toastmasters International by setting the strategic
direction. Such policies are administered on a day-to-day basis by
World Headquarters.
International officer candidates are nominated by the Toastmasters
International Nominating Committee in February. International
director candidates from within a region must obtain the support of
their district councils in order for the district to place that
candidate’s name in nomination at the regional conference business
meeting in June. International director candidates from districts
not assigned to regions should obtain the support of their district
councils. Any qualified candidate may run from the floor.
All announced candidates will appear in this Candidates Corner until
such time as the nomination for those offices are completed.
Following the nomination process, only those candidates nominated
will continue to appear. Floor candidates will not remain in the
Candidates Corner.
