From the classroom and workplace to international travel, Linda Allen weaves her Toastmaster skills and life experiences into her programs. Linda offers a menu of topics that combine information with inspiration, motivation and fun. She also presents holiday programs perfect for churches, women s groups and garden clubs. Linda lives in Stillwater, so would consider the Ponca City, Tulsa and Enid areas as well as Oklahoma City for speaking engagements. Some of her favorite topics are:
  • Life Outside Your Comfort Zone! - Has your comfort zone become a rut so deep you need a ladder just to peek out? Then it's time to get motivated, get moving and stretch your limits. Allen shares how to take the first steps to the exciting life outside your comfort zone.
  • Workplace Etiquette - Yes! Good Manners Matter - Research confirms what we know - many of us spend one-third to one-half of our day at work with our second family. Good manners and effective communication can help make the workplace a positive and productive experience and one where you want to go instead of one where you dread to go.
  • Charming or Alarming? 30 Seconds to Make a First Impression. - In just that short time, many people decide whether they like someone or not. Although we've been trained and educated that it's what's on the inside that matters, the reality is we send out vibes that charm or alarm others. Allen shares how to make every second count in making a positive, lasting impression.

I felt sympathy for those people and I was fearful for them, but I never expected to become one of them. For some reason I believed I was immune from cancer even though there is nothing in my family medical history that would suggest such immunity really existed. It had never occurred to me that most everyone who has ever had cancer once felt that he/she was perfectly healthy, prior to the moment when he/she was face to face with a doctor who said those life changing words "You have cancer". At that moment everything changes and that person becomes one of "Them".
  • Children and their education This is a talk about grandchildren and how they impact our lives.
